Within the United States, Arab Americans have frequently been portrayed in contexts of terrorism, contributing to discrimination and suspicion within their communities. 

To counter these prevailing misrepresentations, Arab American activists, individuals, and organizations have turned to social media as a powerful means of reclaiming their narratives. Platforms such as Twitter (or X as it was recently rebranded), Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok have allowed them to directly engage with their audiences, sharing personal stories, cultural achievements, and community contributions.
